Earth To Enthusiasm

When was the last time you felt excited, alive, or full of enthusiasm? For most of us, it has been a hot minute or somewhere around 395 days or more.

I don’t know about you. I really miss it, that above-the-line level of joy, expansion, exhilaration, fun. I miss belly laughs and a sense of being carefree. The truth is, in many ways, I had a good solid habit of foreboding enthusiasm well before the pandemic. Kids, responsibility, building a business, working through my stuff, caring about human rights and school shootings, and well, sigh.

Life has a funny way of curbing our enthusiasm - if we let it.

Not only would I love a dose of excitement right now, I know that good things come our way when we are living at an elevated vibe. If you are desiring to attract good things and feel some enthusiasm too, I invite you to play along with me!

Imagine that it is five years from now. You are gifted a large sum of money. You get to decide if you accept it or give it back. The catch is, you can only use the money for a dream vacation to anywhere in the world. There’s enough money for you to stay as long as you wish. And while you are there, you get to do meaningful work. Perhaps it’s daily work - or it could be for an hour.

This is your story to make up! You have all the skills and zero self-doubt. If you’ve always wanted to be a painter, perhaps you are sitting in a field of lavender in the middle of France, painting a commissioned piece of art. Dream big. Permission to be all-in. Fear doesn’t exist in this dream, nor does rational thinking like, “Jill, I can’t go because I’ll lose my job and ….” Blah. This is for fun. Do what you gotta do to make this vision happen. Capiche?

Go ahead, conjure in your mind the vision of the place, the colors, the sights, the smells, the food, the people, the meaningful work, the play, the adventure, the romance. You name it, it’s yours. See it, smell it, experience it.

What do you feel in your body right now?

Hopefully, you feel butterflies in your tummy or a jolt of electricity running through your solar plexus or tingling in your hands, or however you experience excitement and enthusiasm. Did you know that the word enthusiasm literally means, “filled with God.” (If God isn’t your word, insert yours: Filled with Spirit, Love, Source Energy, Universe, All That Is.) Truth is you are filled with God, Love, Spirit, Source right now, five years from now, always. In the middle of a pandemic, in the middle of struggle, in the best of times. When balancing your budget and when on a dream vacation. You are always filled with Spirit.

So go ahead, feel it now. Conjuring the image of your dream vacay doing your dream meaningful “work” without a care in the world. Let your vision be fun-filled. FEEL THE ENERGY IN YOUR BODY. NOTICE HOW YOU HAVE INCREASED YOUR ENERGETIC VIBE BY USING YOUR IMAGINATION.
